Recent live performances/recordings at Necronomicon in Providence, RI and Retro City Studios in Philadelphia, PA
August was an exciting month full of thrilling live performances and recordings at Necronomicon in Providence, Rhode Island and at Retro City Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
At Necronomicon, I had the great pleasure of performing the live soundtrack to H.P. Lovecraft’s “Beyond the Wall of Sleep” with Sean Branney who gave a riveting vocal performance of Lovecraft’s tale while also joining the stage with Robert Lloyd Parry on two separate nights, scoring Guy de Maupassant’s “The Horla'“ as well as Arthur Machen’s “N” to close out the festival. Robert gave magical performances throughout the festival and it was a joy as always to share the stage with him. Massive thanks to Niels-Viggo Hobbs for making everything possible throughout this outstanding 2024 edition of Necronomicon!
The following weekend I had the pleasure of joining Robert Lloyd Parry once again for a series of intimate live shows at Retro City Studios in Philadelphia, PA that also served as live recordings for future Cadabra Records vinyl releases. Robert and I performed “The Tower of Moab” by L.A. Lewis on the first day that weekend and Arthur Machen’s “N” on the second day. Both will be full length LPs. In addition to those performances/recordings we also performed/recorded a shorter work by Machen as well as stories by M.R. James and L.T.C Rolt. Along with the recent aforementioned Laurence R. Harvey performances/recordings I took part in earlier this year in May, I can’t wait for all of these exciting records to soon see the light of day! Thanks to Barry Knob and Jake Hoffpauir for working their sonic magic during all of these recording sessions and getting everything to sound so phenomenal in the room and within the recordings and to Greg Wier for taking such great pictures during the most recent Retro City Studios sessions in August! The picture used in this post is from Greg. Enormous thanks to Cadabra Records mastermind Jonathan Dennison for making all of these Retro City Studios performances and recordings a reality!
